I wanted to take this opportunity to
publicly thank the hundreds of volunteers who made our biennial Home
and Garden Tour and Plant Sale such a tremendous success this year. We
were blessed with the two most perfect weather days in June, which weren’t
absolutely necessary to our success but certainly didn’t hurt! A
record number of visitors toured the featured homes and attended the
sale. There is absolutely no way the local Democratic Party could have
made this event happen without the hard work of so many dedicated people.
Most especially, I want to thank the
homeowners in the western part of the County who graciously opened their homes
and gardens to the public this year. You provided such a wonderful
opportunity for local tour participants as well as guests from South Carolina, Virginia,
Tennessee and other parts of North
Carolina to enjoy both the history and the uniqueness of your
homes and the incredible beauty of the western area of Watauga County.
Thank you again to all who helped make the
tour such a triumph!
